Balogun Fulani is among the four Baloguns in the Ilorin Emirate. He is among the kingmakers of Ilorin Emirate Council. Historically, Jagbara was said to be the first person in-charge of the pastoral Fulani contingent in the Ilorin Army. He was appointed by Olufadi to lead Fulani troops in the llorin Army that was sent by Shehu Alimi to repulse the invasion of Majia against Ilorin.
It is important to note that Olufadi was the leader of the pastoral Fulani in Ilorin before the arrival of Shehu Alimi. That qualified Olufadi to be among the first four notable community leaders in Ilorin before the establishment of Ilorin Emirate. The present Balogun Fulani of Ilorin is Alhaji Sidiq Abubakar Balogun Fulani, a distinguished technocrat and a retired Director in the Kwara State Public Service. He was, at a time, an appointed Local Government Council Chairman. He also served as the National Secretary of the umbrella socio-cultural organisation of the people of the Ilorin Emirate, the llorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU).
