The Magaji Aare is one of the High Chiefs of Ilorin Emirate. He represents the Afonja’s family in the administration of Ilorin.

Magaji Aare, like most other prominent chiefs in the Emirate, has a territory which he oversees on behalf of the Emir. He sits in the Council’s meeting with the Emir along with other senior traditional chiefs whenever decisions affecting the Emirate are to be taken.

Turbaned on September 25, 2005, Alhaji Shuaib Aremu Zubair is the 13^th Magaji Aare of Ilorin and a prominent member of the Council of Kingmakers of the Emirate. Alhaji Shuaib Aremu Zubair is a retired high-ranking Nursing Officer in the Kwara public service. State

He served as the pioneer Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government Council. Prior to that, he had been the Secretary to the old Ilorin Local Government Council. He also served the Ilorin Emirate Community in several other capacities. He was the National Social Secretary, National Secretary and the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the llorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) at various times in the history of the Union.
